A Cove dishwasher that will not drain leaves standing water in the tub and dishes that never dried, and the fault lives in the drain path. Cove, built to the Sub-Zero and Wolf standard, uses a drain pump, a filter, and a hose to clear the sump, so a no-drain almost always traces to a blockage or a pump obstruction rather than a control fault.
How a Cove Clears Its Water
At the end of a cycle the drain pump pushes water from the sump, through the drain hose, and out to the sink waste. A filter protects the pump from debris. When water stays in the tub, the path is obstructed somewhere: a filter matted with residue, an impeller jammed by a fragment, a kinked or high-looped hose, or a blocked sink connection or disposer.
Because the path is mechanical, a Cove no-drain is usually cleared without replacing electronics, once the restriction is found.
Our Cove Drain Diagnosis
We remove and clean the filter, inspect the drain pump impeller for anything wrapping the blades, and check the non-return valve moves freely. We then flush the drain hose and confirm the sink connection is open and correctly looped, and we check a new disposer for an un-punched plug. Testing the drain pump motor is the final step, once the whole path is proven clear and water still will not leave.
Working outward from the tub finds the common blockages first and keeps the repair simple in most cases.
