When a Wolf cooktop burner clicks but will not light, or does not click at all, the gas and the spark are usually out of step. Wolf sealed dual-stacked burners are precise, and a single fouled port or a tired spark module can stop one burner while the others fire. There are no numeric codes here, so we diagnose by watching the spark, the gas, and the switch that ties them together.
Clicking Without a Flame, and Its Opposite
If a Wolf burner clicks steadily but never catches, the spark is present and the problem is gas delivery or a soaked, misaligned cap: a clogged port, a burner cap out of position, or moisture from a spill bridging the electrode. If a burner does not click at all while others do, the fault is electrical, in the spark switch under that knob, the electrode, or the spark module output for that position.
Reading which of the two behaviours is happening tells us immediately whether to chase gas and cleanliness or spark and switches.
The Wolf Burner Diagnosis
We remove and clean the burner cap and base, clear the ports with care, and dry the electrode, since a great many single-burner faults are simply a fouled or wet igniter. We then confirm the spark switch closes when the knob is turned to light, check the electrode gap, and verify the module delivers spark to that position. On sealed Wolf burners we also make sure the cap seats flat, because a lifted cap misdirects the flame.
This walks from the cheapest, most common cause outward, so a burner is not written off when a clean and a reseat would have fixed it.

A Note on Safety
